Premature ejaculation is a sexual dysfunction where ejaculation usually occurs in less than 2 to 3 minutes during intercourse. In the 1970s, Masters and Johnson defined premature ejaculation as “the inability of a man to delay his orgasm until his partner reaches orgasm, and this occurring in 50% of sexual encounters.”

Premature ejaculation is also defined by the following terms:

Premature ejaculation is ejaculation that occurs approximately 1 minute after vaginal penetration, either always or in most encounters.

Premature ejaculation is the inability to delay ejaculation for the period between or after vaginal penetration, and the resulting distress.

Premature ejaculation is the inability to adequately control ejaculation for both partners to enjoy the sexual interaction.

What Diseases Cause Premature Ejaculation?

Sexual problems, thyroid hormone disorders, prostate problems, stress, and also;

Diabetes: In diabetic patients, the blood vessels carrying blood to the penis are also affected, leading to erectile dysfunction in particular. However, the effect of diabetes on penile nerves suggests that it may play a role in premature ejaculation.

Testosterone hormone disorders: A deficiency in testosterone hormone causes premature ejaculation. On the other hand, some studies suggest that low testosterone primarily causes delayed ejaculation or absence of orgasm.

Pituitary gland diseases: Several studies suggest that problems in the pituitary gland may cause premature ejaculation; however, the results are not conclusive. It is clearly known, however, that premature ejaculation occurs in individuals with hyperthyroidism.

Varicocele: There are various opinions suggesting that varicocele can lead to premature ejaculation.
